once upon a time in this wonderland

The sea looked very gloomy
I knew I had lost you in that summer 25 years ago
the memory has faded since but it was never forgoten

Maybe mister seagull would share some food
but he didn't offer me anything
I was extremely hungry and exhausted

I ended up searching at the beach nearby,
I must have screamed daddy thousand times
but I had forgotten his real name by sunset

I asked the pinguin, the bear and the puppy,
they said nothing but looked sad and worried,
my hands were sweaty and daddy was nowhere to be seen

he was not here either
I wished he had bought me some cotton candy
or an ice cream like he always said he would

I looked for daddy at the booth down the corner,
he might be waiting in line for my favorite hot dog

but he was not there

I saw my daddy from above, I smiled and waved,
but he didn't smile either wave back
but he walked away instead

On the roller coaster, I just remember that
I have not eaten anything that day.
I felt sick in my stomach with these ups and downs

This old fantasy world down in our borough
was not packed yet on that Saturday morning

and the sky was perfect blue

I still remember clearly that I was so excited,
when daddy said that we're going to a secret wonderland

and he let me wore my best dress
